The Witch Ain't Out Tonight is an active hiding and chasing game played with 2 or more (more is better) players, typically outside in a large area with lots of places to hide. For the full affect this game is best played at dusk or when it's dark.
One person, the witch, hides while all other players stay on home base and count from 1 to 100. Then all players (except the witch) start searching for the hiding witch and chanting “the witch ain't out tonight!”. The witch runs from hiding and tries to catch (tag) as many player as possible before they reach home base. The caught players become witches too and join in the hiding for he next round. The game continues until there is only one player left that is not a witch. That player becomes the witch for the next game.
Usually The Witch Ain't Out Tonight is played within certain physical game boundaries like a person's yard or neighborhood.
A shorter version of The Witch Ain't Out Tonight is to eliminate the multiple witches hiding and simply designate the first player tagged as the witch of the next round.
