There was a crooked man who had a crooked smile

by Jeff Huber - 2008-08-21

Okay, so it isn't a man, it is a creature of currently undefined nature, and it is not crooked in any normal sense of the word, nor for that matter in any abnormal sense of the word that I am aware of, but it does now have a crooked smile, or at least no longer a symmetrical smile. I'm talking about the logo of course. The original logo, which was designed by a great graphic designer named Sarah Hamilton, had a smile that was about a third of a circle sort of like a standard smiley face smile. We loved the logo from the moment we saw it and there was no "reason" to change it, but at some point Lisa was fiddling around in inkscape with the header of the website to deal with an issue related to how we are doing the navigation links, and for whatever reason decided to try some variations on the smile. One of these was a sort of Mona Lisa like half smile that we both really liked and thus it was decided that this woudl be the new version of the logo.
